Every other run on this page finishes at our basecamp. This one puts in far above where we start anyone else, runs past the camp, and keeps going until the canyon opens out onto Zhinvali reservoir. Three to four hours of paddling, with a lunch stop halfway down on a stretch of riverbank you can only reach by boat.

What this run has that the others don't
The upper canyonWe put in well above the start of every other run — a section of the Pshavi Aragvi we don't take day trips onto.
Lunch on the riverWe pull the boats up on a gravel bar halfway down and eat there. Included in the price, not an add-on.
Boat pickup on the lakeWhere the current dies into the reservoir, a motorboat meets you and runs you in. No flat-water slog at the end.
Safety kayakerA second guide runs the full descent alongside the raft. Standard on this route, not an extra.

Long, not hardSame Class II–III water as every other run, and fine as a first rafting trip. Nothing technical about it — there's just four hours of it. Come rested and eat breakfast.
Age 12 and upSame rapids as the shorter runs — it is the four hours of paddling that sets the limit. Under 12s go on the 6 or 12 km.
Takes the whole day08:00 to roughly 16:00 at the river, plus 1.5 hours each way from Tbilisi. There is no afternoon start.
Only on high waterThis route needs a full river — when the water is shallow we don't run it. If the level drops before your date we'll move you to another one, or put you on the 15 km and refund the difference.
